Puppy Adoption Information

How do I adopt a puppy?

When you decide that one of our pups is the perfect addition to your family, we will collect a $500 deposit for your puppy. Your name will also be added to the list of the litter and sex of your choice. This deposit can be paid by check or cash. Your deposit is non-refundable, but can be transferred to another puppy if available. The remainder of your balance will be paid on the day you bring your puppy home.

How do I decide which puppy is best for my family?

All of our puppies at Strawberry Plains Golden Retrievers of TN have a sweet and playful temperament. The parents are selectively bred to produce pups that are healthy in every way; both physically and mentally.  The most important thing to consider when selecting this addition to your family is to decide which of our breeds would be the perfect fit. Pictures can also be viewed on our website.

When can I visit and see my puppy?

Visitors are only allowed to our farm on the day they pick-up their puppy. Visitors will be recieved by appointment only so please call ahead. We are very careful about preventing the spread of disease to our dogs. We know that people want to see the kennel and meet their puppy’s parents prior to the purchase of a puppy, but our number one priority as breeders is to produce healthy dogs. We take every measure possible to protect them and to ensure their happiness. On our website, you can view pictures of the parents as well as pictures of the puppies.

What should I expect when I pick up my puppy?

On the day you pick-up your puppy, you will receive a folder of information containing: records of their first series of shots, a puppy welcoming present with his/her puppy food, registration papers, and information on raising golden retriever puppies.

What can I do until my puppy comes home?

Our puppies will be released around 7-8 weeks of age. During the exciting weeks prior to obtaining your puppy, you can educate yourself on what your puppy will need once you bring it home and decide where you will be keeping your puppy. You can also check out our website weekly for updated photos of your puppy.

What is your health guarantee?

We offer a 72 hour guarantee. This gives you time to take your puppy to your veterinarian’s office and have it checked out for yourself. During this 72 hours if you decide, for any reason, that this puppy is not the right fit for your family, you can return the pup (with his/her informational packet). You can receive a refund for your puppy excluding your deposit. (Should a deposit have been previously paid.)
